Description
Flick and Curzad Ohmsford resembled each other closely: they were both of medium height and heavy build, with the same broad placid faces and grizzled brown hair.2The Sword of Shannara – p 15
Biography
He was the best climber in Shady Vale. He had climbing equipment consisting of special heavy and flexible boots, gloves and rope. The boots and gloves were coated with a special substance just before use that made the surface rough enough to even be able to climb the damp mossy bark of the trees in the Black Oaks.
Travelled each day to farming families north of Shady Vale, supplying them with items they needed and to bring what news he could of the areas outside their homes.3The Sword of Shannara – p 2
The Sword of Shannara
Coming home from one such trip, he was startled by Allanon appearing from out of nowhere. Flick agreed to take him to Shady Vale.4The Sword of Shannara – pp 3-7 Not far out of the Vale they had to hide from a Skull Bearer flying overhead.5The Sword of Shannara – pp 9-10 They then went the rest of the way to Shady Vale where he took Allanon to the Shady Vale Inn.6The Sword of Shannara – pp 10-12
The Black Irix
Flick visited Audrana Coos in search of a cure for Shea’s dreams and wasting sickness. He was given a potion and was told also told of a quest that Shea would go on. Flick denied this as Shea had told he would never put himself in danger again and that he would stay in the Vale.
The Shannara Chronicles
- Was now the uncle of Wil Ohmsford, rather than his granduncle
- Was now the brother-in-law of new character Heady Ohmsford
After the death of Shea Ohmsford, he told Heady to bury the Blue Elfstones, believing them responsible for his early death.
Chosen Part 1
Met Wil when he returned with the white willow bark and told him it would not do any good. He left Wil alone with his mother, knowing she was about to die.
After Wil buried his mother and asked Flick about the Elfstones, he told Wil his father was never the same after he used them. When Wil was sceptical about Flick believing in magic, Flick replied he believed in evil and that the stones bring nothing but misery. He told Wil to throw them in the river.
